Saucon Valley parents, teachers press board over widespread teacher reassignments; superintendent says 22 formal moves

Dozens of parents, teachers and union leaders pressed the Saucon Valley School District Board of Education on proposed teacher reassignments and district leadership Tuesday, saying the moves were disruptive, insufficiently explained and damaging to trust.

The concerns came during an extended public-comment period that followed a short discussion among trustees. Speakers described multiple staffing changes they said amounted to roughly 45 to 46 reassignments; Superintendent (name not specified in the meeting transcript) said later in the meeting that 22 building- or department-level moves met the threshold for board reporting and that other scheduling-level adjustments take place between now and August.

The question matters, speakers said, because involuntary reassignments can disrupt classroom continuity and weaken morale.
