Major Shane Taylor of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office told commissioners on May 29 that one of three 25-year-old rooftop HVAC units at the county jail experienced a major mechanical failure when a fan assembly dislodged. The unit was temporarily repaired but Taylor said it is not restored to manufacturer standards.
