The St. John Town Council on May 28 approved several financial items including purchase requests, an accounts payable voucher and vendor agreements.
The council approved three requests to purchase totaling $25,745: Gaskill & Walton emergency pipe repair at Kilkenny Water Tower ($9,500); Precision Concrete Cutting for sidewalk tripping-hazard removal in multiple subdivisions ($10,000); and Ferguson Water Works for a water meter at Lake Central High School (amount not specified in the meeting transcript for that line). The council also approved an accounts payable voucher dated May 28 representing payroll, supplies, services and equipment totaling $799,689.
The council approved vendor agreements including Alsco for mat services and an agreement with JLC Properties for on-site road salt storage from May 31 to Dec. 31, 2025, not to exceed $7,000. Town Manager Billy said the salt storage arrangement is to ensure adequate supply for ice and snow events. All motions on these financial items passed on roll call with unanimous votes (5-0).
The council also accepted a letter of credit for Suncrest Christian Church Inc. in the amount of $609,400 for public improvements on Lot 1 of a development on US-231 by Park Place; staff said the amount was calculated by the town engineer. The council approved the appointment of Rich Kristakis to the Tree Board by unanimous vote.
Vendor and contractor names recorded in the meeting include Gaskill and Walton; Precision Concrete Cutting; Ferguson Water Works; Alsco; JLC Properties; and Suncrest Christian Church Incorporated.
