Amanda Pitts, a parent of two children at Christine Grant Elementary, described a pattern of “physical aggression” against her child and other students, saying students have been “kicked, punched, spit on, and hit.” Pitts said one incident during a field trip included an attempted strike with a skateboard and that, in her view, the district’s response has been insufficient. “This is beyond acceptable. It’s dangerous, and the lack of meaningful response from this board is inexcusable,” Pitts said.
