Hawaiian Gardens City Council approved a $507,240 construction contract with Courtney Inc. of Irvine to replace the roof at City Hall.
City staff said the project will reroof approximately 10,500 square feet of roofing area with a PVC single-ply roofing system to prevent water penetration and extend the building’s useful life. The project had been included in the approved capital improvement program budget for fiscal year 2024–25.
Staff reported three bids were received at the May 21 bid opening; Courtney Inc. was the lowest responsive bidder. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-July and to be completed by mid-August 2025. Staff said they will coordinate with department heads and the contractor to minimize operational interruptions during the work.
Council voted unanimously to award the contract. Final inspection and contractor coordination will follow standard public works procedures before the contractor mobilizes.
