Council reviews first reading to align conditional-use notice with state law

City Administrator Steve Bargh told the City of Marshfield Common Council on May 20 that an ordinance amendment would update the municipal code to require Class 2 notices for conditional-use permits, matching practice and state law.
Bargh said 2017 Wisconsin Act 67 established new requirements for conditional-use permits and that many municipalities, including Marshfield, had already adopted Class 2 public-notice practice. He said the ordinance is "housekeeping" that does not change substantive permitting practices but updates city code to reflect current procedure.
