In his remarks, Command Sergeant Major James Riddle said he had assumed responsibilities on May 16 and that his family will be “deeply integrated in the school system” with three school-age children and a spouse recently hired as a high-school social studies teacher. "My family will be deeply integrated in the school system here. I have 3 school age kids, ages 4, 6, and 10," he said.
The meeting included a video of military children describing the challenges and resilience associated with military family life; students in the video spoke about frequent moves, missed events when parents deploy, and the resilience children develop. District staff thanked Fort McCoy for its partnership and noted joint events, including a luncheon that alternates with the neighboring Tomah Area School District.
No board action was taken; the segment was presented as a report and recognition of the district’s military-connected students.
