A council member said the new position “will help Keith. It’ll help Angela. It’ll help the whole team here at the borough.”
Councilmember Hooks moved to advertise the position, with a second from Amy High. The council voted in favor by voice vote and the motion carried.
The position is budgeted and the borough manager indicated the role would be intended to support event planning, vendor coordination and promotional activities; concrete job duties and the hiring timeline will be developed after the advertising period. The council discussed using the position to coordinate with the community events committee and to define a scope for promotional work before returning with a final recruitment package.
The council did not set a hiring date at the meeting; the authorization covered only advertising the vacancy.
