District names Dr. Melissa Pearson director of data, assessment and accountability beginning Aug. 1

The committee noted that Pearson holds a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. The announcement came during the personnel report and included congratulations from board members.
The appointment was described as an internal promotion; the personnel committee placed the appointment on the consent agenda for approval. The district said Pearson will begin in the new role on Aug. 1 and will assume responsibilities for data, assessment and accountability functions central to district reporting and assessment systems.
