KERRVILLE, Texas — Arcadia Live, the nonprofit that programs events at the downtown Arcadia venue and at 1501 Water Street, presented its annual update Tuesday and reported record activity, expanded tour bookings and continued use of a city community-service agreement funded by hotel-occupancy tax.
Board president Larry Howard and director Lisa Friday reported 78 events in the previous year — the most since Arcadia reopened — and said some nationally touring acts included the venue on tour announcements, increasing the organization’s visibility. Friday said Arcadia Live received $25,000 in hotel-occupancy tax funding and spent roughly $340,000 on music production and advertising; the group also reported $5,400 in movie-rights payments for outdoor film events.
The presentation said 24% of concert attendees traveled more than 60 miles and that many local attendees dined downtown before events, supporting restaurants and retail. Board members credited city seed funding and partnership for the downtown revival and said the organization expects to grow programming around the city’s 250th anniversary and the Arcadia Theatre centennial in coming years.
Council members thanked the board for downtown work and acknowledged the organization’s role in boosting Friday‑night activity and increased downtown foot traffic.
