La Grange Park amends pay plan to clarify part-time fire department rates

The Village of La Grange Park Board of Trustees on May 27 adopted an amendment to the fiscal year 2025–26 pay plan clarifying hourly pay for part-time and weekday daytime-staffing fire department positions.
The amendment clarifies that the hourly rates listed in the pay schedule for firefighter, lieutenant and captain reflect call/response pay; for administrative duties and training the actual hourly rate is two-thirds of the listed call rate, consistent with fire department policy. Trustee Wagner said the clarification "makes sense to further clarify it and not change any of the rates."
The board also confirmed daytime weekday staffing hourly rates included in the amendment: shift officer $25 per hour; firefighter/paramedic $23 per hour; firefighter/EMT $22 per hour. The ordinance approving the first amendment to the FY 2025–26 pay plan passed unanimously.
