Logansport parks administrator reports clubhouse opening, golf growth and staffing change

Gina, Logansport’s Parks and Recreation administrator, told the Board of Public Works and Safety on May 28, 2025, that the new clubhouse is open and the department had a record weekend of use.
Gina said the department is already seeing growth in golf participation and revenue and expects continued improvement. She said the simulator room installation is expected by the end of summer, the driving range is planned for next year and the golf maintenance barn remains under state design review. She also said trail cameras are being installed with contractor Mission MSP and that several ADA assessments — including Iron Horse Park and Houston Park — are complete.
Gina reported that the department applied for a summer-promotion grant from the CCVB that was turned down and that Carrie Yacks, a recreation staffer who led recent programs, resigned last week; the department is recruiting a replacement. She also listed completed and planned work at Spencer Park, the Eel River Pavilion and other sites and said playground replacement at Spencer Park is scheduled for August after school resumes.
Board members voted to accept the parks report. Gina answered questions about event scheduling and construction sequencing but did not provide a detailed budget breakdown for the new clubhouse during the meeting.
