Service Director Robert told the Eastlake City Council that work on the State Route 91 bridge deck was postponed last week because of weather and that crews planned to attempt the work on Wednesday night, weather permitting, or Thursday if needed.
"Construction is continuing. Unfortunately, weather was not conducive last week with State Route 91 Bridge Deck 4. So that was postponed to, scheduled for Wednesday night. Again, weather permitting," Robert said.
Robert said crews would wait for a final go/no-go decision based on conditions and, if work proceeds, would limit traffic during the operation and use traffic control. He said officers had been requested to assist traffic control so crews could "get through the intersection far enough away to reestablish all the proper term lanes." He also said the work should "help with all the stabilization there, and as long as you want to find the phase of the pavement on the south side of the river."
The remarks were presented as an operational update; no formal council action or vote on the construction schedule was recorded in the meeting transcript. Council members seconded routine acknowledgements and moved on to other business.
The update signals short-term traffic disruptions at the intersection near State Route 91 and work that aims to stabilize the south-side pavement once the deck work is completed.
