The Milton School District Board of Education approved the 2025–26 student fee schedule, adopting several modest increases to yearbooks, insurance and transportation costs.
Under the approved schedule, the middle‑school yearbook price rises $5 from $35 to $40 and the high‑school yearbook increases $10 from $70 to $80 to offset higher printing costs. Optional high‑school yearbook insurance will increase $5 to $85. Breakfast and lunch meal prices rise by 10 cents per meal; the price of a milk carton remains unchanged. The district’s busing program will increase $10 per one‑way trip and $20 per round trip. The family maximum fee also increases by $40. Administration noted that eligibility for busing is limited to space on available routes.
A board member reminded families that Board policy 6152.01 (fee‑waiver policy) is posted in BoardDocs and that families needing assistance should contact an administrator before paying fees to request waivers.
The finance committee presented the fee package after a budget update; Ross provided a preview of items the finance committee will assess later in June. The fee schedule vote was taken by voice and carried; a motion to approve was moved and seconded and passed on a voice vote.
Board members discussed the high price of the high‑school yearbook and asked whether reducing pages had been considered; administration noted printing costs have risen and that the proposed increases are intended to offset those costs.
Administration also discussed options for finance and budget‑workshop scheduling and asked board members for availability for a budget session in mid‑June or July.
