Nabil Baqeed, who told the board he would be taking over the Subway and Pizza location, said there would be no changes other than the ownership transfer. "Everything remains the same. There is no changes," Baqeed told commissioners.
Board members noted a clerical inconsistency between the business certificate and the license draft regarding the exact DBA string (variations of "Subway and Pizza" vs. "Subway Pizza"). Commissioners advised Baqeed to consult the city clerk's office to amend the DBA certificate so the license and business certificate match; they did not make that amendment a condition of approval.
The motion to approve included the standard condition that all taxes, fees and city department approvals be completed; the board then took a roll-call vote and the chair announced the approval by a vote of 4 to 0 with one member absent. Staff said the license would be prepared for pickup and the clerk would notify Baqeed when it was ready.
