Board approves new manager, assistant manager at Framingham Station

The Board of License Commissioners for the City of Framingham approved an application to change the manager and assistant manager at Framingham Station LLC, 417 Waverly Street, at its May 19 meeting.

The change names Savio Soares as the proposed manager and John McGagan as the proposed assistant manager. The board approved the application 4-0 with one member absent, conditioning the approval on payment of all taxes and fees and approval from city departments, including required inspection receipts.

Savio Soares, the proposed manager, told the board he had recently stepped in as the full-time bar manager. "I just stepped in recently as the new manager for Framingham Station Steakhouse. So I'm working there full time now," Soares said. John McGagan, the current manager, confirmed the proposed personnel change and said he was having technical trouble turning on his camera but affirmed the application. "Yes. I confirm this," McGagan said.

Board members asked routine questions about licensing paperwork and whether the correct names appeared on submitted forms. Audra Shaw, staff, said the background information contained the correct, updated license application and that Lieutenant McCarthy of the police department had provided the required sign-off email for a change of manager and assistant manager.

The motion to approve included the standard condition that all taxes, fees and city-department approvals be completed before issuance of the amended license. The board conducted a roll-call vote and the chair announced the application was approved by a vote of 4 to 0 with one member not present.

The board did not take additional direction beyond the standard conditions; no amendments to the license or follow-up tasks were recorded during the hearing.
