The Pulaski Community School District board approved two Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) contracts at its meeting: CESA 6 for learning networks and professional development and CESA 7 for a range of services including special education and literacy supports.
Presenters explained that CESA 7 is the district's primary service provider for services such as literacy consultants, English-language learner consortium participation and other networks. The two-year CESA 7 arrangement includes a base package of services and add-on days; district staff said they typically purchase the base package (10 service days) and use consultants for targeted work. Staff said the contract for these services is about $48,000 for the period discussed.
A board member asked about an overhead charge; staff said CESAs recently raised their administrative percentage and that CESA 7's overhead is now about 11 percent. Staff noted the CESA 8 contract was not yet ready and will come back to the board at a later meeting.
Both CESA 6 and CESA 7 contracts were approved on a motion, and trustees recorded unanimous voice votes to carry the motions.
