Board approves 12-month contract for accountability-court supervision app

The Houston County Board of Commissioners approved a 12-month contract with Reconnect, Inc., of Portland, Maine, to provide a supervision and monitoring application for accountability-court participants.
Commissioner Talton moved to approve the contract for services with Reconnect Inc.; Commissioner Robinson seconded. The contract is scheduled to begin July 1, 2025, at a cost of $500 per month and will be paid from the county’s Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Fund. County speakers noted the fund is financed in part by a small percentage of traffic violations, per remarks by Sheriff Moulton quoted to the commission.
The app will provide location services and notifications for drug screenings, court dates and sobriety checks as part of participant supervision. No amendments to the contract were recorded at the meeting.
