Supporters said the resolution is intended to clarify and promote local enforcement options; it would not itself change statutes but would request that the Louisiana Department of Health and other appropriate entities propose solutions. The committee had no questions and reported SR 122 favorably on motion; the sponsor said the resolution aims to get local governments and associations to share ordinance language and enforcement practices to address the problem.
