Don Senechel, speaking for Jericho Road, gave the nonprofit—s annual report and told the Redmond City Council that the group focuses on food, housing assistance and outreach for the hungry, homeless and working poor across the Redmond school district service area.
Jericho Road reported the following 2024 figures: 8,944 hot meals served at Jericho Table (22 days each month, including 234 children), 2,104 weekend food bags distributed to students across the Redmond School District, and a housing assistance program that prevented homelessness for 281 adults and 312 children. Senechel described living conditions for many clients: "Many of the people we work with and assist daily are people who survive without running water, garbage services, utilities or sewage services, and live in tents, lean-tos, vehicles, and makeshift shelters," and said Jericho Road is working to establish a service center adjacent to Oasis Village to improve access to services and move people toward permanent housing.
He said Jericho Road coordinates six programs, runs a three-unit shower trailer, and partners with Mosaic Medical, County Health, the Redmond Library, Reach, Thrive, Project Share and Oasis Village. The group also reported corporate and foundation support from Les Schwab, Oregon Community Foundation and Saint Charles Foundation, and invited council and commissioners to its annual benefit golf tournament on Aug. 9 at Eagle Crest Resort.
Council members thanked Jericho Road and promised continued support. Senechel noted the organization meets with city and county staff and traditional service partners as it advances the proposed service center.
