San Angelo Development Corporation moves regular meeting to second Wednesday

The City of San Angelo Development Corporation voted May 28 to change its regular monthly meeting date to the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Interim Economic Development Director Michael Dane introduced the discussion after a board member queried whether the current fourth‑Wednesday schedule was the best fit for the largely new board. Board members said conflicts arise at different times of year; staff reported that the meeting room and city schedule make the second Wednesday generally available and that some months (such as November) are moved to accommodate the city’s business plan competition timeline.

Tina, city staff, told the board that moving the meeting to the second Wednesday would likely mean the month’s financials would be reviewed one month in arrears because accounting would not have completed that month’s statements in time for an earlier meeting. Board members said they were willing to test the change for a period and adjust when necessary.

Carlos moved to set regular meetings for the second Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.; Travis seconded. The motion passed with no recorded opposition. Staff said they would schedule the next meeting for June 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Board members also discussed flexibility to shift particular months for events such as the business plan competition and noted that room availability is a factor for some schedule changes.
