City officials announced a public launch for the Lincom team — a street-based response unit focused on mental‑health crises and quality‑of‑life incidents — scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at City Hall.
Assistant officials described the Lincom team as a long-standing city priority designed to send specially trained responders to nonviolent mental-health and quality-of-life calls instead of or alongside traditional public-safety units. The kickoff will let residents meet team members, hear details about services and learn how the unit will operate in neighborhoods.
Councilor Field and city staff asked the public to attend the front steps event and said the team’s launch follows years of community conversation and planning. City staff described it as a coordinated effort to provide alternatives for crisis response and to improve service outcomes for residents calling for help.
Officials urged attendance at the June 3 event and said an indoor foyer presentation will be used if weather prevents an outdoor kickoff.
