The council’s Public Properties and Parks committee on May 27 tabled an order that would have authorized the purchasing department to issue an RFP to sell the multi‑service center at 100 Willow Street and an adjacent parking lot at 57–61 Liberty Street.
City attorney Jim LaManna said the Community Development Department submitted suggested edits and staff believed it would be premature to issue the RFP while an on‑site biomedical cleanup continues. LaManna asked to table the item and said staff plan to reissue the RFP later in the summer when cleanup work is complete and the city can represent the property as clean to prospective bidders.
Committee members moved and seconded a motion to table; the motion passed by voice vote. No final sale or terms were discussed. Staff said the RFP will be returned to committee when edits and cleanup progress allow.
