Board renews third-party administrator agreement for workers' compensation claims

The board approved a renewal of the third-party administrative services agreement with Cannon Cochran Management Services, Inc. (CCMSI) for workers' compensation claim administration for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Superintendent Parsons and district risk management staff said the relationship with CCMSI has improved relative to earlier problems and credited a new claims representative and quarterly meetings with the vendor’s manager for better claims handling and timelier resolutions. “We have seen a lot of forward progress. Our response time from CCMSI has been very good on all our matters,” Parsons said.
Cameron Sorensen added that district staff meet quarterly with CCMSI management to review active claims and track long-running files, and that a number of older long-term claims are in process of closing. Trustees voted to renew the contract and directed staff to continue monitoring claims performance.
The vote was unanimous among trustees present.
