Board approves employment contract for Shannon Urquhart as Coordinator of Student Services

The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees approved the employment contract for Shannon Urquhart to serve as Coordinator of Student Services for the 2025–26 school year, with the corrected contract dates of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Superintendent Daryl Parsons recommended Urquhart following a district interview process and noted her experience in special education and knowledge of state and federal law. Parsons said the committee believed Urquhart “has a lot of the skills and has the the knowledge and skills necessary to be a great asset for the district and our students and our staff here.”
Urquhart told the board she is a lifelong Fallon resident and expressed enthusiasm for supporting students with disabilities and their families through IDEA processes. Board discussion confirmed a correction to the contract dates before the vote.
Trustees voted to approve the employment contract by voice vote; the motion passed unanimously among trustees present.
