The Village of Wappingers Falls Board of Trustees on Wednesday adopted a set of resolutions covering election inspectors, police equipment purchases, parking fines, festival approval and budget transfers, approving each by voice vote.
The board voted to appoint election inspectors for the upcoming village election on March 18, 2025. The resolution names inspectors by ward (Ann Marie Panoleo, R. Vinnie Fitzsimmons, Susan Johnson, Kathy Massey, Grace Padwarski, Geraldine Pettit) and backup inspectors (Pat Percone, John Fitzsimmons) and set pay at $18 per hour and $30 per meal. The board explicitly increased the hourly rate by $1 during discussion.
Trustees also adopted a contract with Doyle Security Systems for the police department (Resolution No. 125 of 2025) and authorized an agreement with Motorola Solutions for an in‑car video system and license‑plate recognition cameras for the police department. Both resolutions were carried by voice vote.
The board adopted a resolution establishing fines for parking violations consistent with the vehicle-and-traffic code overhaul previously discussed. Trustees approved a request from the Wappingers Falls Business and Professional Association to hold the Festival at the Falls on June 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Housekeeping actions included acceptance of the resignation of Amber Gendarrs as planning board secretary effective Jan. 10, 2025, and a series of budget transfers moving contingency funds into highway fuel and street‑maintenance sign accounts. The board also tabled a request to have the planning board act as lead agency for a lot‑line adjustment at 59 South Renson Avenue and tabled a separate matter to be addressed at a later workshop.
Most motions were handled by voice vote; the minutes record the common phrasing “All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Carry.” for carried motions.
