The Chittenden Solid Waste District board of commissioners approved a five-year employment contract with Executive Director Sarah Reeves on May 28, authorizing an agreement to run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030.
The board moved and seconded the motion in public session following an executive session on personnel. The motion was presented as: "to approve a contract between the board of commissioners of Chittenden Solid Waste District and Sarah Reeves for an employment contract for a period commencing 07/01/2025 through June thirtieth of 2030." Board officers called the question and the motion passed by voice vote.
After the vote Reeves addressed the board and attendees, saying, "it is truly an honor and a privilege to work for CSWD. It's the highlight of my professional career, and I greatly enjoy the work that I do, the people that I work with, and working with you as a board."
The board did not record a roll-call tally in the public meeting; the approval followed the executive-session discussion and a public motion to adopt the contract. The meeting record shows the motion was moved and seconded and approved by the assembly with no recorded abstentions or recorded nay votes.
No further contract terms (salary, benefits, or performance metrics) were read into the public record during the meeting beyond the contract period. The board packet accompanying the meeting includes the contract materials and related memos, which staff said are available to commissioners and included in the packet distributed prior to the session.
