Council approves consent resolutions including NJDOT grant application and estimated third-quarter tax bills

At its May 20 meeting the Mayor and Council approved consent resolutions that, among other items, authorized staff to prepare and submit a New Jersey Department of Transportation municipal aid grant application for Section 2 of the Shadyside Road project and authorized the issuance of estimated third-quarter property tax bills.
Administrator Bose told the council that Resolutions 103 and 104 authorize Capital Alternatives to prepare and submit the municipal aid application for the remaining section of Shadyside Road (Woodland to Darlington). He noted that last year the borough obtained a municipal aid grant for Section 1 (West Oak to Woodland) in the amount of $190,050.
Resolution 105 authorizes the borough to issue estimated third-quarter tax bills ahead of county certification; the third-quarter bills are due Aug. 1. Bose explained that state law requires property tax bills be issued at least 30 days before they are due and that the county certification process had not been completed; the borough will issue estimated bills in late June and the final certified rate will be reflected in the fourth-quarter billings.
The consent block also included approval of a block party request from Marissa Davis for Aug. 9, 2025, 3 p.m.–10 p.m. All consent resolutions were passed in the meeting's consent block by roll call.
