Ramsey adopts summer parking ban near Darlington Park

The Borough of Ramsey on May 20 adopted Ordinance 11-2025, which prohibits street parking near Darlington Park from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. between May 15 and Sept. 15.

Councilwoman Cusick, presenting the ordinance at the advertised public hearing, said, "This ordinance prohibits street parking, from 8AM to 6PM from May 15 through September 15 in 3 areas" and then identified the affected streets. The ordinance passed final reading by roll call vote with the council voting in favor during the May 20 meeting.

The borough said the restriction targets congestion caused in recent years by park visitors who were parking on nearby residential streets. The three specific areas covered by the ordinance are Shadyside Road from Darlington Avenue to Drum Court, Drum Court, and Darlington Avenue from Ridge Road to Alita Place. Council members gave residents the opportunity to comment during the public hearing; the council heard no public remarks on the measure before closing the hearing and voting.

The borough clerk was directed to publish the ordinance title and adoption notice in an official newspaper as required by law.
