Code enforcement finds 2554 South Central Avenue in compliance; city waives enforcement costs

A Flagler Beach Special Magistrate concluded that property at 2554 South Central Avenue (case EN24-0088) is now in compliance and the city waived related enforcement costs after staff inspected recent repairs.

Code enforcement officers and a telephonic respondent, identified only as Michelle, described a timeline of notices beginning in September of the prior year with a notice of violation issued in February. City inspectors documented exterior repairs, roof replacement, stair repairs, stucco work and yard cleanup during a recent inspection.

Evidence and statement: Michelle and code enforcement confirmed contractors had completed much of the work and that remaining items were minor; staff said if inspectors visited that day the property would not have constituted a violation. Based on the respondent’s responsiveness and the ability to verify compliance, the city agreed to waive costs associated with the enforcement action.

Disposition: The magistrate “included” the matter (administratively closed) and thanked the respondents for the corrective efforts. The city warned that repeat violations could be treated as repeat offenses in future enforcement actions.

Administrative note: Staff emphasized that if additional outstanding items reappear the case could be reopened; contractors are scheduled to finish remaining minor work.
