The Cottage Grove Plan Commission voted to approve an extraterritorial (ETJ) certified survey map submitted by Wilmar Larsen that splits off a parcel so his daughter may build a house.
Planning staff reported the town and county had already approved the certified survey map and that the proposed division lies near the edge of the village’s extraterritorial jurisdiction and "is not really gonna affect us," in staff’s words. The commission noted it has authority to approve land divisions within 1.5 miles of the village limits under state law. A motion to approve the map was made and seconded by commissioners; the motion carried.
The approval was procedural and staff recommended no additional conditions; the commission recorded the motion and carried it by voice vote.
