Board Approves Saint Jerome School Event Permit and Two Bartender Licenses; Staff Notes OWI Disclosure Issues

The board also considered bartender-license applications for Heidi Weiss and Diane Robbie. The chief and staff reported both applications had incomplete disclosures regarding past OWI/DUI convictions: one applicant had not listed a 1997 conviction and another omitted an earlier offense when disclosing what was labeled a "second offense." Staff explained state statutory timing rules can make OWI/DUI classifications confusing and said that, under state law, incidents separated by more than 10 years may be classified as first offenses for statutory purposes. The chief and staff described the omissions as likely oversights and said they had followed up with applicants by phone. The board approved both bartender licenses by voice vote.
