The Village of Hartland Board of Trustees voted to approve multiple vendor payments, a lift-station contract and an equipment purchase during its meeting.
The board approved contractor payment application No. 1 in the amount of $146,451.94 to Zignego Company Inc. for the 2025 utilities program after staff reported inspections and progress on the contract.
Trustees also approved contractor payment No. 1 in the amount of $99,668.87 to Wolf Paving Company Inc. for the 2025 paving program; staff said recent paving on East Park had passed inspection and additional paving on West Capitol and West Park was scheduled to start the following week.
After approving those invoices, trustees approved vouchers totaling $363,646.03 that incorporate the two contractor payments.
On infrastructure work, staff recommended and the board awarded Mid City Corporation a contract for maintenance and repairs required for the Arlene Pump/Lift Station check-valve vault in the amount of $22,400. Staff said Mid City was the low responsive bidder and can coordinate with existing project work at the lift station.
On equipment, the board approved the budgeted purchase of an ODB leaf-vac for $140,072.56 to replace a unit that has been in service for nearly 27 years. Staff noted that the DOT recommends replacing this equipment about every 12 years and that the chosen model matched the village’s familiarity and long service history. Trustees discussed whether to retain or auction the replaced unit and deferred a final decision on surplus disposition to staff.
Ending note: All payments and contracts were approved by voice vote. Staff will return with implementation details and any surplus-auction plans for replaced equipment.
