Trustees ask for a board-member comments slot and volunteer liaison to Friends group

A trustee proposed rotating attendance at Friends of the Library meetings, saying, “That reminds me. I thought it would be nice if we cycled through the friends of the library meeting if we sent a board representative to that.” Another trustee said the Friends’ president had attended board meetings in the past and described the group as "laser focused."
Board members and staff emphasized that informal idea-generation must avoid constituting a meeting for which notice is required. A staff member said working meetings can be held at library branches and committees can bring ideas back to a main meeting. No formal motion was made to change the agenda structure during this meeting.
