At the May 27 Rossford City Council meeting, the public works committee reported several ongoing and upcoming projects: the Maryland Drive project was awarded to Bergman and is expected to begin the first week in June; the bid opening for Veil Road took place the same day as the committee meeting; and the facilities committee is in favor of selling the Ironwood tot lot after a homeowners association requested to buy it.
Committee members also reported that houses have been cleared for the Buck Road and Glenwood roundabout and a related quick‑turn project. A city five‑year paving plan remains incomplete and will be discussed further at the committee’s June meeting.
The report said the move of the public works operation to Veil Road has been discussed and is expected to occur over the next year as crews have available time. The committee said the fire station renovation should be finished within about a week, but the council’s discussion combined fire station progress with public safety committee items; final confirmation of the station completion date was not provided to the council.
No council vote was taken on the committee’s items during the meeting; they were presented as committee reports and flagged for continued consideration at the next public works meeting.
