The Public Facilities Committee approved a contract award for parking management services at Hilton Head Island Airport, selecting Elite Parking Services of America (doing business as Autonomous Transit LLC) on a revenue-sharing basis.
John (airport staff) told the committee the selection followed a competitive solicitation and evaluation for best value. The recommended agreement features an 80/20 revenue split favoring the airport, a one-time $25,000 fee for the contractor’s proprietary parking management software and an estimated projected revenue to the airport of $3.32 million over five years after management, equipment and operating expenses.
The committee said the airport’s previous parking arrangement included a revenue threshold the contractor had to reach before the airport received revenue; staff said the new arrangement removes that threshold and provides more direct revenue to the airport. The recommendation also included installing the contractor’s remote-management software and the possibility of extending regulated parking into the general-aviation side, which the airport said is currently unmanaged.
Action: committee members moved, seconded and approved the contract award with no objection. Staff said the new contractor will help manage parking operations and revenue during the airport terminal project.
Ending: staff indicated the contract will proceed as approved and that the airport expects improved revenue capture and remote management capabilities.
