Benton County supervisors approved a variance to the subdivision ordinance allowing a final plat to be recorded without a prior preliminary plat for a parcel owned by Scott Ford.
Staff said the request concerns a lot inside an existing platted subdivision where the applicant intends to split off part of the parcel for mortgage purposes and build a new building. Because the area is already platted, staff recommended eliminating the preliminary‑plat step and allowing the applicant to submit a final plat and complete standard final‑plat requirements after approval.
The board voted to approve Resolution 25‑43; the motion passed with Tippett, aye; Seaman, aye; Bowles, aye. Staff confirmed that all submission materials were in order and that recording would proceed once the applicant provided the final survey and documentation.
The applicant and staff will complete the final‑plat paperwork and the county will record the plat after required materials are submitted.
