Facilities management seeks upgrade to Asset Essentials Enterprise for building-level reporting

Wayne County facilities staff asked commissioners Oct. 11 to approve an amendment to move their Asset Essentials subscription from the core level to the enterprise level so each county building can be maintained as a separate site and staff can generate more robust reports internally.
Gregory Hurst, director of facilities management and planning, said the county went live on the software and, after reviewing data and work orders, identified limitations in the core package that required vendor assistance to generate some reports. "We realized what we don't have and what we need," Hurst said, adding the enterprise subscription will let staff create additional reports themselves and manage building-level data without vendor intervention.
Hurst told commissioners the enterprise upgrade will provide more granular insight into spending and labor by building and improve the department's reporting capability. The amendment was approved as part of the consent package of items 1–9.
