Wayne County Parks staff told commissioners Oct. 11 they will convert two basketball courts into one basketball court and two pickleball courts at Warrendale Park in Dearborn Heights under an addendum with WCI Contractors; the amendment does not change the dollar amount.
Parks staff said community demand for pickleball has driven the change and that the contractor was ready but approval timing pushed the start to the upcoming summer season. The courts are county-owned; staff confirmed the project is within the Wayne County park system and expected to be completed this year.
The commission approved the amendment as part of the consent motion for items 1–9.
