Board names appointees to economic development and WellWISE boards; Jennifer Chimilewski wins WellWISE seat 6-3

Commissioner Duckham nominated Matt Swartzlander for an at-large seat on the Jackson County Economic Development Corporation; the nomination was approved by voice vote. The board also reappointed James E. Shotwell Jr. to the Employee Retirement Commission for a term expiring May 2028.
On the WellWISE Area Agency on Aging board, four applicants were considered for a public seat: Karen Wooten, Jennifer Chimilewski, Shanice Davenport and Brian Bowman. Commissioners voted 6-3 to appoint Jennifer Chimilewski to the seat with a term expiring April 2027. Commissioner Snell was named to a commissioner seat on the WellWISE board for the same term.
The appointments were taken as part of the meeting’s consent and committee reports; no further debate or amendment was recorded.
