The committee moved and approved acceptance of the Neighbors financial reports and vouchers for the period reviewed. Supervisor Both moved to accept the finance reports and vouchers; Supervisor Story seconded. The vote was recorded as all in favor and the motion passed.
Brianna and Carmen summarized January through April financials, noting revenues and expenses were close to projections and that some April postings (agency invoices, dietary invoices) were still pending. Carmen said the capital improvement plan (CIP) had not yet recorded the golf cart purchase but would be updated when the delivery and invoicing complete.
Staff described agency staffing costs as stable but noted a likely short-term increase to cover a nursing schedule gap with an agency RN while an internal nurse shifted into an MDS role. Chris and Carmen said agency staffing monthly costs have been in the low hundreds to low three-hundreds (dollars unspecified per unit) and that invoices sometimes post after the report.
Carmen told the committee the facility needs to replace its commercial ovens and estimated the cost between $40,000 and $50,000, including installation and plumbing. She said one oven still works and may be auctioned; the county will go out to bid and consider state-contract options or a local vendor. Staff said replacement and installation will be a near-term capital expense and that purchasing was coordinating the solicitation.
The committee confirmed the next meeting date would be moved to July 17 to allow the administrator to attend the first budget review; the change was agreed in the meeting and scheduled on the public meeting calendar.
