Chris, the facility employment/staffing coordinator, presented April hiring and recruitment data and told the committee the campus has a large CNA training class and that the facility was certified as a CNA testing site.
The detail matters to the county because staffing levels affect resident admissions, use of agency staff and operating costs. Chris reported 11 direct-hire interviews in April, eight positions offered and accepted, and that CNA open positions totaled 38 with 22 filled through agency staffing. He said nursing licensed positions totaled about 16 openings (mostly part-time) and that one agency RN would cover a temporary scheduling gap.
Carmen and Chris described internal promotions: Rebecca Proudlock was hired as the campus clinical mentor, Ashley Peterson was promoted from MDS nurse to assistant clinical mentor (central ACM) and a new MDS nurse named Corey was scheduled to start in mid-June. Carmen said those internal advances help retention and succession.
Carmen and Chris said a CNA training class began with 10 students and at least one current employee is enrolled. Carmen said the partner training organization had secured certification for the campus as an official CNA testing site; she said that will reduce travel and scheduling barriers because students previously traveled long distances to testing locations.
Committee members did not oppose the staffing updates. The employment report was informational; no formal personnel actions were voted by the committee in this session.
