The owner’s representative said work at Shovel High School will likely occur during winter break because of the scale of that job.
County projects and maintenance Design drawings are complete for a surplus building and a juvenile facility; staff said those projects are under budget and that construction drawings should be ready in June with a possible July start. The county awarded a grinder pump contract for a county farmers building to H and H; courthouse lighting replacements are finished. Ballistic testing for a new gun range is pending and will determine next steps. Archive and community center roof contracts were awarded and purchase orders issued; roof and awning work timing will depend on weather.
Health department and emergency management Staff said the health department roof and HVAC replacement were reassigned to a new contractor after the original bidder identified a $28,000 miscalculation; the grant supporting that work was reinstated. Emergency management staff noted that the original slab for a planned HVAC system will not carry the weight and that engineers must specify new footings; that project now will not start until September.
