Stacy Maslin asked the Buckingham County Planning Commission to schedule a public hearing on special‑use permit case 25SUP358 so the Maslins may operate a bed‑and‑breakfast/short‑term rental (Airbnb/VRBO) at 2612 Plank Road (tax map 190 Parcel 32), the historic Epps House.
At the introduction, Maslin said the property is being preserved and used to supplement costs until the applicants retire and move to the county permanently. He said they do not plan to host events or large gatherings and described the property as restored, historic and maintained. Commissioners briefly reviewed acreage and noted the applicant intends no amplified or event use; commissioners asked staff to schedule a public hearing. The commission moved the introduction to a public hearing on June 23, 2025, and staff advised the applicant that any required health or septic issues and parking should be addressed in the SUP application packet before the hearing.
The commission asked staff to include the public‑hearing notice in the June agenda and to provide Board of Supervisors hearing dates should the commission recommend approval.
