Council authorizes WGA amendment to update feasibility study for BCS Capital development

The Montgomery City Council authorized WGA to complete an amended utility and economic feasibility study for the BCS Capital property on Buffalo Springs Drive on May 27.
Staff said the original feasibility study covered roughly 32 acres along Buffalo Springs; the developer recently put six additional adjacent acres under contract, and the update will identify roadway, permit and utility extensions needed to serve the expanded parcel and estimate related costs.
During discussion council members and staff noted the updated concept plan included new pad sites and additional retail potential; staff said renderings are conceptual and end users were not yet confirmed. One council member asked about market demand for fast-food pads in the corridor; staff responded that pad uses are not guaranteed and must fall within the city’s table of permitted uses.
Council voted to accept the item and authorize the feasibility-study amendment. The study will return with updated cost estimates and recommended infrastructure work to serve the wider BCS property.
