Cobb County Board of Ethics reelects officers in voice vote

The board voted to reelect the current slate — Carlos Rodriguez for chair, Ron Yonker for vice chair and Lynn Rainey for secretary — after a motion from Tanya Bird and a second from Leilani Plendell. The board chair called the vote and members answered “aye”; no roll-call tally was recorded.
The reelection came during a routine meeting the board holds twice yearly under the county code; members noted there were no pending complaints to consider. Chair Carlos Rodriguez opened nominations and asked whether members preferred to nominate new officers or reelect the current slate. Tanya Bird moved to reelect the slate and Leilani Plendell seconded the motion.
The motion passed on a voice vote. The minutes from prior meetings were also approved earlier in the session.
Less-critical housekeeping items set the board's next regular meeting for October 2025 and confirmed that meetings are open to the public and broadcast on the county channel.
