Weber County awards election printing and postage contract to Runbeck Election Services

The Weber County Commission on May 27 approved a contract with Runbeck Election Services to provide printing and postage services for election materials under a two-year agreement with three additional one-year extension options, for a potential five-year term.
"Runbeck is a nationally respected elections partner, and we're excited to work with them," said Lauren Schafer, elections staff, during a presentation of the vendor selection. Schafer said the vendor was selected through a competitive bid process and that, while the first year includes some setup costs, the overall pricing for printing and postage for about 31,000 voters should lead to long-term savings. She also said Runbeck already works with the county’s Agilis system.
Commissioners asked no substantive questions during the item. A commissioner praised the competitive bid process and said savings benefit taxpayers; a motion to approve the contract was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The approval authorizes staff to execute the Runbeck contract and proceed with vendor onboarding and first-year setup activities; the first-year costs and projected savings were described by staff but specific dollar amounts were not provided in the meeting record.
