Weber County approves purchase orders, warrants and multiple local transportation funding agreements

The Weber County Commission on May 27 approved consent agenda items that included $1,282,547.33 in purchase orders, warrants totaling $2,186,825 and local transportation funding agreements with multiple municipalities.
County finance staff provided a breakdown of the week’s transactions and categories. "We issued 13 purchase orders this week for $1,300,000," said Ricky Hatch. He said about 80% of that amount — roughly $1 million — was for the county ice sheet project, including a new chiller, compressor, security cameras and VIP room remodels. Hatch said other purchase orders included about $169,000 for the Golden Spike Event Center and various equipment and service purchases for roads and dispatch.
Hatch summarized the week’s warrants as well: 191 warrants totaling about $2.2 million, with the largest shares noted for paramedic services (about 16%, or $357,000) and the county’s regular contribution to Weber Human Services (about 11%, or $230,000). He said grant-style awards totaling about $183,000 (8%) went to the Boys and Girls Club, LUPEC and Eden Valley Trails. Hatch also listed the top vendors paid this week, naming Weber Human Services ($235,000), Ogden City Corporation ($159,000), Ogden Weber Convention & Visitors Bureau ($133,000), Wheeler Machinery ($132,000) and Westnet Incorporated ($130,000).
The consent agenda also included requests to approve new business funding terms with West Haven City for the 2700 West project and a series of local transportation funding agreements with Ogden City, Harrisville City, Pleasant View City, Far West City, Roy City, Marriott/Slaterville City and West Haven City to establish terms for projects such as the West 20 Fifth Street and D Avenue project, 20 First and Lincoln Avenue improvements and roundabout and corridor preservation work.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the consent items and the motion carried. One commissioner praised staff coordination on transportation projects and noted past site visits that informed the county’s work.
The approval places the listed purchase orders, warrants and interlocal transportation agreements into effect as county-approved consent items; no separate roll-call vote tally was read into the record at the time of approval.
