Perolotanda said he had spoken with neighbors and that none had lodged formal complaints; one neighbor had expressed concern about potential effects on property values. After public review and a motion from the board, members voted to approve the special permit to allow the rear addition; the motion carried and the petitioner was told to proceed with the usual permitting steps.
The board’s action was procedural approval of the special permit; building and code compliance remain subject to Inspectional Services approvals before construction begins.
