Jackson County commissioners approved a 60‑day time extension to the Shangri‑La Elevated Boardwalk construction contract to address weather delays and late delivery of dock and project materials.
Staff said the original contract completion date was scheduled for June and the change order will extend final completion to Aug. 11, 2025. Project staff and the contractor reported that decking and dock materials were delayed in shipping, and that the contractor could complete remaining work once parts were delivered. The board approved the time extension by motion and voice vote.
Commissioners asked staff for the updated expected completion date and were told that material delivery is the limiting factor; staff indicated that once dock materials arrive, deck installation should follow quickly and the contractor may finish ahead of the extended date. No change in contract price was reported at the meeting; the change order addressed time only.
